Obituary: Bollywood music composer O.P.Nayyar (1926-2007)

Hindi movie music director O.P.Nayyar died of heart attack in thane at his residence. He was 81. He is famous for his melodious and sensuous songs. He single handedly resurrected the career of Asha Bhosle in 1950’s. He is more famous for not recording a single song with Lata Mangeshkar.


He composed music for a Telugu movie “Nirajanam” in 1980’s. He mesmerised Telugu music lovers with this movie. Bollywood directors failed to utilize him properly in 80’s and 90’s as it happened in the case of another legend R.D.Burman.
